Asus Mk241 24″ LCD L

The Abstract Exponent recently purchased an Asus Mk241 24″ LCD for general use.
Also considered were several Samsung, Viewsonic, and the Gateway 24″ models.
After seeing the Gateway’s poor picture and unstable portrait-rotating stand in stock at Best Buy, I ruled that out.
I have never been impressed with other Viewsonics and they make a lot of cheaper [...]

Open Office and AbiWord ready for OS X.5.5*

FWIW, I recommend avoiding the use of Open Office and Abi Word in OS X, it has positively introduced chaos onto my system.
After exporting a file to PDF, look what happened to a normal web page:
AbiWord and OpenOffice both also exhibit glitchy text editing, the cursor [...]
